Sun Coral

This is how the coral looks when it is closed, during the day. The face of a purple fire fish can be seen in the upper left corner, and a mushroom lies in the left foreground.

When the polyps open, they are very pretty.

Here is another close-up. These corals are not photosynthetic, so bright light alone will not keep them alive. You have to feed them particulate (which they capture out of the water), and at night, and I was unable to feed them sufficiently.
