Bicolored blenny

A classic pose, resting on top of a rock. Deflated fox coral polyps are in the background. Notice his almost black head combined with his yellow tail.

Peering out from atop a colt coral.

He liked to sit on top of these hairy green mushroom corals. They would slowly try to close around the "food" which had landed on them. He would sit on them until …

… they had almost closed around him …

… and only at the very last minute would he swim away. Perhaps he used the feeding polyps of the coral to clean parasites off of his scales.

He was a lovely specimen, but purchasing a carpet anemone for my tank probably was his downfall. He disappeared shortly thereafter, and I can only surmise that he tried to rest on another specimen one time too many. My mistake.
