The Cowrie
The Cowrie is a very pretty kind
of snail. Whereas most snails live in an ever expanding shell
which grows in a spiral, the cowry somehow manages to live in a
shell which is more spherical. It is also very shiny. In addition
to eating algae off of whatever surface upon which it is
traveling, it seems as if it also siphons water in the front and
expels it out the back. Notice also the numerous hairy bristles
on its underside.
